I’m a registered veterinary nurse currently doing a course in canine and feline behaviour so this book was great for me. Plus as a practice we have referred several behaviour cases to Stephanie hedges.

A great reference book for trainers and behaviourists as well as vet nurses. A clearly written and balanced overview of the evidence of all aspects of canine behaviour which you would need to know about in practice, well sourced with references throughout. The tables to summarise information, and diagrams to illustrate more complex concepts are a real bonus. I would recommend all vet surgeries to have a copy on their shelf!

A superb book that is written for the Veterinary Nurse, Veterinary Surgeon and others within the vet practice. It is not written for behaviourists as the name on the title highlights, but it is actually more up to date and contains more accurate information than many titles written for behaviourists so it does act as a useful additional resource for behaviourists. The principles of behaviour section is very up to date with references up to 2103 highlighting important areas such as brain damage after use of choke chains and research of the canine genome. Highly recommended or all behaviourists and veterinary staff.
