West Nile Virus

25,00

For the past thirty years, there has been a worldwide resurgence of zoonotic diseases, infections transmitted between animals and capable of infecting increasingly large human populations. Today, this virus, transmitted by mosquitoes, has become a real public health problem. In France, the West Nile virus was first described following the discovery of human cases and equine epizootics in the 1960s. After almost forty years of apparent silence, the virus reappeared in the south of the country in the early 2000s. West Nile Virus provides an overview of current knowledge of this virus, particularly in France. Intended for zoonotic disease specialists, researchers, teachers and students, it is organized into nine chapters, with contributions from scientists studying various aspects of the eco-epidemiology of the West Nile virus.
